Interaction requires social skills
Asking, listening, working in a group, leading, tolerating disappointment, and expressing opinions are all interaction skills. We need these skills in everyday life, especially when we are trying to get things done. They are important, for example, when one is looking for a job or forming a new relationship. It is possible to improve these skills by practicing them. Social intelligence and social skills develop during our interactions with others throughout life. Confidence and ease of interaction come with repetition, practice, and experience.
Some people are actively in contact with other people and are talkative. However, being a sociable person does not necessarily mean that you have excellent interaction skills. Often an extroverted "social person" needs to learn how to listen. On the other hand, a shy and quiet person can have excellent interaction or social skills. So what does it mean to be socially and emotionally intelligent? A socially and emotionally intelligent person can read social situations and empathize with other people's feelings and have good situational awareness.

Everyone knows the feeling when you are trying to tell a story, but no one listens to you. People are caught up on their phones or too busy thinking about something
else... Can you recall a time when you were too busy to listen? We can all together ensure that no one is left unheard. Today, 10th of October, we celebrate World Mental Health Day. Join us and greenlight listening!

Mutuality is essential to the interaction. It means that both or all parties can contribute to the joint conversation. If there is bullying or abuse of power in a relationship, it is not worth preserving. Both parties must feel happy in the relationship, and both have the right to end it if they want. The basis of a good friendship, or any relationship, is that both parties give and receive.
A positive and constructive discussion is encouraging. It is important to be attentive and present, listen with genuine interest and give positive but constructive feedback. Supporting, showing compassion, and caring for the other and cheering each other up, are also positive means of interaction. A hug or touch can give a feeling of acceptance - a sense of touch has a direct connection to the pleasure hormones. However, not everyone is used to or likes hugs. That is why it is essential to ask first if it is okay to hug them if you are unsure.

Your wellbeing influences your everyday interaction - people are not usually at their best before a meal or when they have just woken up from a nap.
What impression do I give of myself to others? My attitude, facial expression, and how I talk affects the impression people get from me. If my behavior signals that I’m not interested in others or want to be left in peace, then others often won't approach me. The interaction will be minimal because other people think that I don't want to chat now. Sometimes feelings affect our communications with others. When I'm in a bad mood, I might think that others behave evasively or rudely, even if they don't. How would I behave if I tried to get others excited instead? And what effect would it have if I showed my enthusiasm for the subject openly?
Everyday life includes conflicts in interaction
No one is always completely in control of their emotions. Interactions involve conflicts. The interaction skill to deal with this is to ask what the other person means in a conflict situation, instead of just making assumptions. It is also an interaction skill to understand when to pause a difficult discussion. It's much better to return to the same topic later when the situation has calmed down. A good interaction also involves resolving conflicts, and it's important to remember that apologizing is an essential interaction skill. Small matters can grow into big issues if left unresolved.
Social and emotional intelligence can also mean the ability to make compromises. Sometimes it is essential to try to understand how the person you are arguing with feels and then strive for a solution that works for both. Remember, social skills include asking for help when you need it. It's good to remember that sometimes the attitude or mood of others isn't necessarily related to you. It's related to their worries, stress, or other things on their mind. It's also important to realize that we enjoy other people's company for a variety of reasons. Sometimes a friendship starts spontaneously and effortlessly, but sometimes there is no "chemistry" at all. You don't have to like everyone, but you have to know how to get along with them.
