Hobbies bring well-being
When you throw yourself into doing something pleasant, your thoughts break away from the hustle and bustle, worries, and routines of everyday life. Hobbies can provide feelings of success, new skills and friendships. It is important that the hobby community is encouraging and safe. Hobbies do not necessarily need to cost money or require instruction.
An hour of doing your favourite thing is an effective way to relax, but a small moment in your everyday life can also be just as good: listening to music, baking buns, jogging or having coffee with a friend. Small moments during a day brighten up everyday life, improve your mood and increase your productivity. You don’t have to just wait for nice moments to happen either, you can consciously organize more of them.

Creativity is seen and heard in music, painting and movies, but also in playing video games, scheduling tasks, cooking and everyday problem solving. Creativity is a space to combine, develop, imagine and implement ideas. In a creative activity, a person gets some distance from their daily lives, develops new perspectives, and experiences of relevance. In the creative ebb and flow the goal and objective of the activity seem less important and the focus is on performing the activity itself. Admittedly, many wait in vain for inspiration, but if you don’t start, you’ll never finish!
Sleeping well increases creativity. We need enough sleep to solve problems. Everyone knows from experience that when we are tired ideas do not flow. Creativity can not be forced, but needs its own time, and in particular an open and calm mind. Relaxation increases the interaction between different parts of the brain, which can lead to new ideas and solutions. Therefore, relaxation enhances creativity, imagination and the ability to learn.
